Make over to the Yahoo corporate logo

Next months, Yahoo is intending to have a change of its corporate logo. The beginning of this week the Web Company decided with a series of new logos to finally decide on one logo. This change was initiated by Marissa Mayer (CEO – Chief Executive Officer) due to the inspiration of “a renewed sense of purpose and progress at Yahoo”.

On Tumblr blog post, Kathy Savitt, Yahoo’s CMO (Chief Marketing officer) wrote on Tuesday evening. Further she mentions that the new logo would be a modern redesign that’s more reflective of their reimagined design and their new experiences. A new variation of the logo would be presented each day during the next 30 days. She also mentioned that in this way they will have some fun while honoring the legacy of their present logo.

Savitt has written that the campaign will conclude on September 5 with the unveiling of the new official logo. To retain the visuals and the auditory cues build as a part of its brand in the last 18 years, the company intends to reflect a new corporate personality.

She also mentions that they want to preserve the character that is unique to Yahoo! – fun, vibrant and welcoming. They are intending to keep the color purple, with their iconic exclamation point and of course the famous yodel.
